3RD TRAINING OF TRAINERS PROGRAM ON “CRIME PREVENTION THROUGH PARTNERSHIP” MADE IN ANKARA
In order to equip trainers and operational secretariat staff with necessary knowledge and skills to effectively run local security commissions and make local security plans, 3rd Training of Trainers (ToT3) Program on “Crime Prevention Through Partnership” was organized in Ankara.
The seminar was held in Holiday Inn Hotel on 26-27 January for 23 police, gendarmerie, and coast guard ranked people from central administration. In the training, it is aimed to disseminate and inform central people about the program details, and equip them with required skills to sustain and diffuse the civilian oversight after the end of the project.
Basic concepts in crime and and prevention was on the agenda
International and national experts gave comprehensive information and shared their experiences with the participants in the seminar. The participants were given information on crime theories, criminology, basic concepts on causes of crime and disorders, assessment of causes of crimes, local analysis of causes of crime and disorders in comparative perspective; causes of crimes in Turkey.
Understanding and analyzing is vital
As a consequence of the two days seminar, it became clear and obvious that understanding and analyzing the causes of crimes, crime prevention techniques, cognitive crime prevention and efficacy of response to crime have vital importance for making better security plans through partnership and running the Local Prevention and Security Commissions better.
